GAIL SHEEHY – NYTimes Bestselling Author

Passages in Caregiving: Turning Chaos into Confidence

Presented by the Caring Collaborative of The Transition Network and Co-Sponsored by the Hunter/Brookdale Center for Healthy Aging and Longevity   Come to a stirring and informative evening with Gail Sheehy who has chronicled every major turning point for 20th Century Americans in some 15 books, starting with her iconic Passages: Predictable Crises in Adult Life in 1976, which was on the NYTimes Bestseller list for 3 years! (No one ever read beyond their own age!)

Everyone will at some point be responsible for giving care. Gail talks about the eight predictable crucial stages of caregiving -- she takes you by the hand and shows how to navigate the health care system, the questions to ask: How serious is it? What do I ask the doctor? How will this be paid for? What are our options?

Gail who has great personal experience in this shows that you will get through it -- and will do the right things. Key is her message that you don't have to be alone in this process. She will talk about the many resources (such as TTN’s Caring Collaborative), advocacy and helping groups.

Gail has won many awards for her books and articles, is a wonderful speaker, and serves as an Advisor to TTN's Caring Collaborative
