She’s done it again! Abigail Trafford continues her Time travel in the book As Time Goes By, where she discusses emerging models of romantic involvement in “our” age: The Age of Longevity.

Come join us for an evening of revelations and insights about new patterns that are developing among people in their 50s, 60s, 70s and beyond, around their long-term spousal and other relationships.

Program Information:

Based on hundreds of interviews, Abbie relates great stories about "Boomerang Marriages" (couples that grow apart - even break up - and come back together to create a new chapter), Serial Spouses (married more than once after divorce or widowhood), Throwback Couples (reuniting with childhood sweethearts in later life) and other emergent models in our times.

Hear more about the many issues of coupledom which arise in this age of longer life, including ‘retired spouse syndrome’, where the intricacies of marriage move to the center of the couple’s life, as well as other complicating situations.

Do you know how many people now look at 30- and 40-year marriages and decide that there is time to try again rather than stay mired in “flat liner” relationships? How many people end up back with childhood sweethearts whom they haven’t seen for decades? How - coupled or single - we need an "intimate circle" of about ten people we can't imagine our lives without.

The author of Crazy Time (divorce) and more recently, My Time (about making the most of the ‘bonus’ years we now have), Abbie explores how “men and women of a certain age are literally kicking up their heels and rewriting the script of love.”

Abigail Trafford is an award-winning journalist and former Health Editor for the Washington Post. She also serves on TTN's Advisory Board.

Her new book is As Time Goes By: Boomerang Marriages, Serial Spouses, Throwback Couples, and Other Romantic Adventures in an Age of Longevity
